Bernard S. Daoust Sr.
Castleton-Bernard S. Daoust, Sr, age, 66 years of Maple Hill Road, passed away suddenly Thursday March 16, 2006. He was born in Albany and lived in Rensselaer, before moving to Castleton 35 years ago. Mr. Daoust was employed as a building maintenance mechanic for the County of Rensselaer and was an Honorary Life Member of the J.N. Ring Fire Company in Rensselaer. Bernie was a member of the Carpenters Local #370 and was a very active communicant and usher helping with many projects at Sacred Heart Church in Castleton.
Husband of the late Henrietta Williams Daoust; father of Kimberly H. Daoust Creater (Henry) of Little Falls, NY, Bernard S. Daoust, Jr. (Nancy Bauer) of Castleton and Gregory D. Daoust (Nikki Roberts) of Castleton; grandfather of Hilary and Shelby Creater, Bernard S. Daoust, III, Heather M. Daoust and Lucas Daoust. Son of the late Alfred G. and Deneiges Lauzon Daoust; brother of Alfred A. (Julia) Daoust of Coxsockie, Yvette A. (Donald) Cusick of Westmere, Marie A. (Guy) Ladouceur of Defreestville, Yvonne C. Scully of Rensselaer, Irene Y. (William) Daoust-Coyne of Rensselaer, Wilfred H. (Patricia) Daoust of Zamora, CA., Annette M. Braman of Rensselaer, Ernest (Patricia) Daoust of East Greenbush, Franklinette A. Motler of Rensselaer, Ronald A. (Jayne) Daoust of Schodack and the late Rita Bigelow, Edward, Gerard Sr., John, Theresa, Raymond, Herbert and Roger Daoust. Also survived by 37 nieces and nephews, 55 great nieces and great nephews and 7 great-great nieces and great-great nephews.
Funeral from the W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home 1700 Washington Avenue Rensselaer Monday morning at 9:00 and 10:00 at Sacred Heart Church in Castleton, where the Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial will be offered. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home Sunday from 2-6 PM. Interment will be in Memory’s Garden, Colonie.
