Obituary for Paul J. Reilly

Rensselaer- Paul J. Reilly, age 84 years, died Monday, April 30, 2018 at Albany Medical Center. A lifelong resident of Rensselaer, he was the son of the late Joseph D. and Mary Delaney Reilly.
Mr. Reilly was a graduate of St. Johns Academy in Rensselaer and Hudson Valley Community College. He worked for the Delaware & Hudson Railroad in data processing for seven years, then the Arrow Shirt Company in the statistical services dept. for 29 years, retiring in 1989. He was a real estate salesman and broker until 1999 and retired from the New York State Office of State Comptroller where he worked from 1994 to 2006.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Anne Bonacker Reilly, five daughters, Susan Reilly and Mary Reilly of Rensselaer, Colleen (Kevin) Reilly of Wynantskill, Jeanne (John) Waterbury of Poestenskill and Carol (Ronald) Hayden of Niskayuna, 3 sons, William (Marleen) Reilly of Brunswick, Michael (Nadine) Reilly of Castleton and Timothy (Linda) Reilly of Schenectady, 11 grandchildren, Kevin, Lauren, Christopher, and Lisa Reilly, Jason (Carolyn) Bristol, Kelli and Samantha Hayden, Jessica (Ryan) Kelley, John (Paloma), Jennifer and Justin Waterbury and five great grandchildren, Kylee Ann, Jason Jr. and Laura Bristol, and Jack and Makenna Kelley. He is also survived by a brother, Richard F. (Mary) Reilly of Rensselaer and many nieces and nephews. Paul was predeceased by four brothers, Joseph V. (Anne), Thomas J. (Ann), William J. and William H. Reilly and by a grandson, Eric Lloyd Hayden.
Funeral from the W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home (1700 Washington Avenue, Rensselaer) will be held Monday at 8:30 and then 9:30 at the Church of St. Mary’s in Clinton Heights (Columbia Turnpike, East Greenbush), where the funeral Mass will be offered. Relatives and friends are invited and may call to the funeral home Sunday from 3-6 pm.
