James F.  Keneston
Rensselaer- James “Jim (Poppy)” F. Keneston age 84 of Rensselaer passed away Thursday May 3, 2018 at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Jim was born in Albany to the late Millard and Eleanor Countryman Keneston. Jim served in the US Navy and was employed by Sterling Winthrop Drug Company in Rensselaer. He was an avid fisherman and bowler but his biggest joy was being a Poppy. He was also a lifetime member of the K of C in Rensselaer. Husband of Frances J. Taibo Keneston. Father of Bernadette (Stephen) Wilsey, Dolores (Loren) Smith, Jim (Fran) Keneston and Matthew Keneston. Poppy of Stephanie, Jessica, Jennifer, David, Andrew, Jeffrey and Emily. Great grandfather of Austin, Alina, Luca, Victoria and Elizabeth. Brother of Lawrence, Michael and the late Patricia Ann, Millard, Dennis, Gerald, Frank and Eleanor. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral from the W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home 1700 Washington Avenue Rensselaer, Tuesday at 10:00 and 11:00 at St. John the Evangelist and St. Joseph Church Herrick Street where a funeral Mass will be offered. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home Monday from 4-7 PM. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, East Greenbush.
