Obituary for
Eleanor P. Brownell
East Greenbush-BROWNELL, Eleanor Pauline Haas, passed quietly surrounded by her children’s love on Monday August 18, 2014. She was born in Schnecksville, a small hamlet in the town of Allentown PA, to Paul and Florence Haas on June 26, 1930. She was a spirited soul who followed her heart with an unrivaled passion and a woman of strong faith who served her church through song, piano, and religious instruction. Through the fellowship within her religion, business as Avon representative for 35+ years and her devotion to all members of her family, she practiced her belief in God’s love. Her warm spirit and compassion was felt by all who came in contact with her. Her smile was contagious and will be missed in this world. She was pre-deceased by her husband Marshall Ryder Brownell. Eleanor and Marshall had seven children, listed with their spouses, Marjorie (David) Meisner, Patty (Joseph) O’Hare, David, Peter, Deborah (deceased), Timothy (deceased), and Cheryl (Matthew) Tunny. Eleanor is survived by her grandchildren, Rachel Meisner, Christopher Brownell, Taylor Brownell,Jessica O’Hare, Timothy O’Hare, Nolan Tunny, and Brian Tunny and her great-grandchild Zoe Purtle-O’Hare. She is also survived by siblings Ruth, Annette, Elaine, and Paul. Burial will be in Onsequethaw Cemetery in Clarksville on Friday August 22, 2014 at 11:00 AM. All are welcome to attend.
