Lois Joan Plitnick (Harty)
Rensselaer –Lois Joan Plitnick age 79, passed away Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014 at the St. Peter’s Hospice Inn in Albany surrounded by her loving family. She was born on Sept. 27, 1935 in Yonkers, NY to the late Ralph and Dorothy Harty. She grew up in Yonkers, NY then moved to Suffern, NY and has been a resident of the Capital Region since the late 1970’s. Mrs. Plitnick was employed by St. Peter’s Hospital as an administrative assistant. Lois was a member of the Albany Obedience Club, the Red Hat Society and was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Castleton, NY. She enjoyed dog obedience training, breeding and raising English Springer Spaniels. Wife of the late Robert P. Plitnick. Mother of Robert Plitnick and Lisa Plitnick. Grandmother of Joshua, Jonathon and Sarah Plitnick and Cassie Yankle. Sister of Ralph Harty. Funeral from the W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home 1700 Washington Avenue Rensselaer Wednesday at 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church, 3 Catholic Way Castleton-on-Hudson where the Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial will be offered. All are welcome to attend. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 4 to7 pm. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery Castleton-on-Hudson.
