Obituary for
Edna L. Wyman (Baker)
Rensselear- Edna L. (Baker) Wyman, 84, of Rensselaer, NY, passed away on January 21, 2015 in Albany, New York.
Edna was born in Dorset, VT to Abbie and Harry Baker on January 24, 1930. She attended high school at Arlington High School (VT) and graduated in 1947. She married Hiram (Jock) F. Wyman on May 6, 1949 and went on to raise five kids and nine grandchildren. She was always an active member of her community where she volunteered her time at Meals on Wheels. Edna enjoyed the time she spent at the East Greenbush YMCA where she took swim classes. She also enjoyed “fast” walks, reading, knitting, card/board games and spending time with her friends/family.
Edna is preceded in death by her parents, Abbie and Harry; three brothers Harry, Gardner and Thomas Baker; and husband Hiram.
Edna is survived by her sister Nellie Douglas of Springfield, VT; sons Michael (Terri), David (Joy), Daniel (Rigo) and Patrick (Renee) Wyman; daughter Michele (William) Daigle; nine grandchildren Jennifer, Mathew, and Timothy Daigle; Shawn and Thomas Wyman; Amanda and Mackenzie Wyman and Shane and Abigail Wyman.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at the W. J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home 1700 Washington Avenue, Rensselaer at 4:00 pm on Saturday, January 24, 2015. All are welcome to attend. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home prior to the service from 1:00 – 4:00 PM.
