Joyce M. James (Barrows)
Rensselaer- Joyce M. Barrows James age 83 of Rensselaer-East Greenbush passed away peacefully at her residence on Thursday April 2, 2015. She was born in Albany and has lived in Rensselaer and East Greenbush area for over 50 years. Joyce was employed by the State of New York in the truck mileage tax and finance department but her biggest joy was being a homemaker. She was a 50 year member of the ladies auxililary of the No. Albany American Post #1610. Joyce had a passion for gardening and was a loving mother who enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and dear friends. She leaves behind a legacy of people who loved her and loved spending time with her, the sweetest caring loving woman.
Wife of the late William D. James. Daughter of the late Elizabeth and Jessie Barrows. Mother of Marie, Sherry, Robert, William and David. Sister of Judy Tom of Hawaii and the late Robert and Jack Barrows. Grandmother of Monique and Nichole Fennely, Robie and Brittany James, Dalyn James and Camden and Landry McHargue. Great Grandmother of Jason, Kendra and Channing. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call at the W. J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home 1700 Washington Avenue Rensselaer Tuesday from 4-7 PM. Interment will be Thursday morning at 10:30 at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Third Avenue Ext. East Greenbush.
