Obituary for Nancy M. Cannon

Nancy M.  Cannon
Nancy Mager Cannon, age 82, died at Home Of The Good Shepard in Malta, NY, on July 3, 2015, surrounded by family.
Born July 27, 1932, in Elizabeth, NJ. She has lived in Canton, NY, Fort Myers, FL, Evans, GA and most recently Malta, NY. Nancy worked as a school teacher at Canton Middle School teaching 7th & 8th grade biology. She was a devoted wife and mother, enjoyed golf, animals and was a talented watercolor artist. She was also an active member of her church community and sang in the church choir.
Nancy is survived by her three sons, Michael Mager, Christopher Mager, Andrew Mager and his wife Christina, her brother Richard Des Reis and his wife Deloris, her nephew David Des Reis, her step children Steve Cannon, Melinda Cannon Alcott, husband Richard Alcott and their sons Zachary and Jordan, and grandchildren Emily and Leah Mager and Isabel and AJ Mager. Nancy was preceded in death by her husbands Albert H. Mager (1979) and Thurlow O. Cannon (2000) and her Daughter Kathryn Mager (2002).
A viewing will be held at Lawrence Funeral Home, 21 Park Street Canton, NY on Tuesday July 7 between the hours of 5 and 7 pm. Funeral services will be held at Saint Mary's Catholic Church on Wednesday July 8 at 11:00 am at 66 Court St. Canton, NY. Burial to immediately follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Friends are welcome to join us for a luncheon at the Saint Mary's Church gym, located behind the church, following the burial.
Flowers are welcome but we encourage you all to make a donation to your local Humane Society in Nancy's name as she was so fond of her dogs and cat and donated to animal charities all her life. She will be missed and forever loved.
