Life Story for
John W. "Jack" Pulver
West Sand Lake- John W. “Jack” Pulver age 82 passed away Tuesday Sept. 15, 2015 at Albany Medical Center surrounded by his family after battling Alzheimer’s. He was born May 27. 1933 in Rensselaer, attended St. John’s Academy Rensselaer, and resided in East Greenbush and West Sand Lake for many years. Jack was a truck driver for Red Star Express and was a school bus driver for the East Greenbush Central School District. He was a US Army Veteran, serving from 1949 to 1953, and was a member of the Melvin Roads American Legion Post #1231 in East Greenbush. Mr. Pulver enjoyed wood working and working on car engines.
Husband of Dolores A. Lopez Pulver whom he married at St. Joseph’s Church in Rensselaer on September 5, 1953. Father of Jack (Sandy) Pulver, Donald Sr. (Victoria) Pulver, Linda Chamberlin and Laurie (Mike) Frey. Son of the late Jesse and Helen Lazak Pulver. Brother of the late William Pulver. Brother-in-law of Antoinette “Tosia”. Grandfather of Lauren, John, William “Bill” Pulver, Donald (Nichole) Pulver Jr., Peggy Ann (John) Warner, Christina and Julie Chamberlin, Jessica and Brittany Frey also survived by 4 Great-grandchildren.
The funeral mass will be held on Saturday morning at 10:00 at the Church of the Holy Spirit in East Greenbush, all are welcome to attend. Calling hours will be at the W. J. Lyons Funeral Home 1700 Washington Avenue Rensselaer Friday evening from 4-8 PM. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery East Greenbush.
