Helen M. Eriole
Helen M. Eriole of Rensselaer, NY passed away Thursday afternoon December 29, 2016 with her loving family by her side. Helen loved cooking and baking, especially soup and homemade sauce. She enjoyed crafts and sewing. She was most proud of her yearly Christmas parties, which were always filled with food, family, and friends. Helen remained close with her best friend Betty, with whom she shared a Chatham blacksmith’s shop in years past. Helen was very active at her residence at Franciscan Heights Senior community and made many close friends. Helen worked many as a waitress at the East Greenbush Diner.
Helen is survived by her devoted and loving husband Victor Eriole. She leaves behind ten beloved grandchildren- Carolyn Bugbee, Matthew and Elizabeth Eriole, Ian, Lily and Christopher McGuirk, Wyatt Cozzy, Olivia, Maya, and Lucas Eriole, as well as their parents- Christine, Joseph (Josie), Susan and Mark (Bridget) Eriole. Helen is also survived by sons Tommy and Michael Alesandrini; brothers Charles (Lila) McLaughlin, William McLaughlin; sisters Mary Krom and Florence (Sis) Marro. She was pre-deceased by parents James and Dorothy McLaughlin, sisters Catherine (Cathy) McKenna, Dorothy (Dottie-Ann) Munn, and daughter Gina Alesandrini. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be from the W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home 1700 Washington Avenue Rensselaer, NY 12144 Monday January 2, 2017 at 12:00 pm. All are welcome to attend. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home prior to the service Monday from 10:00 am to 12: 00 pm.
