Ann E. McAvoy Johnson
Jupiter, FL- Ann E. McAvoy Johnson age 95 passed away in Jupiter, FL on August 6, 2018. She was born and raised in Troy, NY. She was a graduate of Troy High School and after graduation and during WWII Ann worked at the Watervliet Arsenal but her biggest joy was being a housewife and mom.
Ann was an amazing wife and mother, she loved Jesus Christ with all of her heart. She loved her family and stayed true to her faith all of her life.
Wife of the late William “Billy” Johnson whom she married on Jan. 2, 1943 in Troy, NY. Daughter of the late Anna Caulfield McAvoy and John “Jack” McAvoy. Mother of Judith (Norman) Allie of Wynantskill, NY, Nancy Frazier of Port St. Lucie, FL and Holly Rafferty of Wynantskill, NY. Grandmother of Robin, Dawn, William, Melissa, NancyAnn, Sarah, Jess, Jacob, Alan, Breana, Elizabeth and Matthew. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her siblings Rita McAvoy, Joan Hebert, Rosemary Sawyer, Deloris Ryan, John McAvoy, Joseph McAvoy, Matthew McAvoy and Thomas McAvoy. Also survived by several great grandchildren, and several great great grandchildren. Friends and family are invited to W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home 1700 Washington Avenue, Rensselaer Sunday from 2-5 PM. Funeral service will take place Monday at the funeral home starting at 10AM. All are welcome to attend.
Interment will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Oakwood Avenue, Troy.
