What a loss of an extraordinary woman. I have so many great memories of time with Doris, from the time Heidi and I became friends in Kindergarten 40 years ago! How many hours did we kids spend lounging on your shag rug, splashing in your pool, laughing and growing up? So many life special events were celebrated at your home—our high school graduation party and a million other things! What a trip when the four of us went to Bermuda together! What a wonderful strong role model you always were. I didn’t realize what I was learning but I WAS learning about what is possible for a woman. It was from you that I learned a woman can own her own home, a woman can do whatever needs to be done, she can mow her own lawn (in her nightgown!) and she can fix things, and she can take care of business! I also learned from you a woman can be a professional, and raise an amazing child on her own, and go back to school to earn a degree! You never let anything stop you or keep your spirits down, you were always making everyone laugh. Thank you for the gift of so many memories and for raising such an amazing daughter, my life-long friend. You will be missed, Doris!
